Now Recruiting- Primary Teaching for Mastery Continuing 2026/27
One of the main aims of the Maths Hub network is to facilitate high-quality collaboration between schools. In previous years, we have facilitated this through our ‘Primary Teaching for Mastery (Sustaining) Work Group’. We have now developed this model into a more localised and sustainable approach through the ‘Primary Teaching for Mastery (Continuing) Work Group‘.
Who can take part?
These collaborative Work Groups are open to any school who has previously engaged with the core Teaching for Mastery (Introductory) Work Group. The Introductory Work Group was previously known as Teaching for Mastery (Developing and Embedding) Work Groups.
Each of these Work Groups will have approximately 12 schools, within a local area, and will involve these schools working together and being supported by a Local Leader of Maths Education (LLME).
What is involved?
Being part of a Primary Teaching for Mastery (Continuing) Work Group will involve:
- Five (half day) Primary Core Subject Leader Work Groups
- Two Headteacher Collaborative Work Groups
- Optional Observing Learning Work Groups across the key phases
- Optional Focused Theme Work Group on topics such as SEND in the mainstream, Oracy and strengthening and revisiting Mastering Number (KS1/KS2)
In addition, you can continue to engage in:
- Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Mathematics (SKTM) Work Groups - EY, ECT, TA and teacher
- Mastering Number (Reception/KS1 and KS2)
- Bespoke in-school Targeted Support from an LLME (dependent on specific criteria)
All of this is fully funded by the DfE and will therefore come at no cost to schools wanting to take part.
